Trade Policy

posted Oct 22, 2020, 8:34 AM by Manager BLW
Currently we do not offer cash for books. However, we have a trade in system wherein you bring in unwanted and unneeded books, movies, or music, and we will sort through them and give you a dollar amount of credit if we can use some of your items. This trade credit is good for most things in the store, with the exceptions being the outside sale carts and items with "no trade" written on the price sticker. The amount of credit on your items and what we can take varies daily due to the constantly changing inventory. Discounts and coupons cannot be used on the trade credit, nor can gift certificates; however, if you purchase over your credit with cash, card, or check, you can use a discount or coupon on the amount you go over.

We are currently looking for Stephen King, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Miss Fisher Mysteries, Francine Rivers, Unabridged Classics, Local History, Terry Pratchett, Nancy Drew & Vintage Mysteries, Outlander/Diana Gabaldon, Neil Gaiman, Eragon, J. R. R. Tolkien, Harry Potter, Fancy Nancy, Wings of Fire, Goosebumps, Pete the Cat, Elephant & Piggie, Judy Moody, J. D. Robb, Dork Diaries, James Patterson, Magic Treehouse, Jim Butcher, Little House books, Choose Your Own Adventure, & New Releases.

We are NOT accepting the following: Moldy, chewed, missing pages or otherwise damaged items, Hardcover Fiction except new releases and popular authors. Outdated nonfiction/textbooks, except those from 1950 or prior. Advanced reader copies. Games (computer/nintendo/etc.). Cookbooks unless very specific. Encyclopedia sets. Fullscreen DVDs or scratched discs. Most self-published books. Books we have two copies of in stock. Christmas & Halloween stuff except classics. Oversized coffee-table books.

These lists are not exclusive but merely guidelines to help you determine what you would like to bring in. :)

Please be mindful of time constraints and keep in mind less is more: it is best if you limit yourself to bringing in no more than three small, grocery size bags or two small square foot or thereabouts size boxes full of books. This enables us to process your items more quickly and serve more customers. Further, we typically cannot accept any trades around an hour or less before closing time. Please stay in the store while your books are being processed; it typically takes no more than half an hour, very maximum. :)
